  Yin Yoga  Workshop

Sunday, April 11th  5:00 – 7:00 PM


Take a quiet break from the hectic pace of life.  This 2-hour workshop will focus mainly on Yin Yoga targeting the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine through long held floor postures. You will be aware of the calming and nourishing effects this practice has on body, mind and spirit. This class is designed to bring your awareness inward, rejuvenate your spirits and give you an antidote for the intensity and fast pace of daily life – a perfect way to spend your Sunday afternoon.  

The practice will end by moving the body slowly in a moderate flow practice and finish with a tension-melting guided Savasana.   Come and experience passive and active Yoga working in harmony to create a deep sense of peace.
Beginners are welcome J

Ellen Mosko, is a 500-hour teacher registered with Yoga Alliance.  Ellen has trained in Yin Yoga with Sarah Powers.

Nutrition Workshop: Spring Detox with Katie Strakosch

 

Join us as we learn about refreshing the body after the winter, and moving more into an optimised spring routine. This workshop will include  simple tips to incorporate into everyday living to encourage "renewal" and "detox" after a cold winter, we'll discuss goals for spring eating and some myth-busters regarding typical "detox" diets.

Spring is the season our bodies want to naturally lighten up. While there are many ‘miracle remedies’ to help one detox, a balanced diet is truly the best way to clear out the toxins and lighten one’s load.

Join us and get a leg up on your spring cleaning. We all know the kids outgrow their shoes and dance gear at an outrageous rate. Come to the studio, bring your gently used outgrown dance gear and trade it out for new to you goodies. Bring Costumes, Leotards, Tops, Bottoms and Shoes  clean and in good condition to participate.

Abby Silva Gavezzoli spent the first 17 yrs of her life in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Her early dance education was guided by Rhonda Edmundson, Charleen LoCascio, and Gayle Tabary.  After graduating from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Abby moved to New York to attend Marymount Manhatan College where she received her B.F.A. in Dance.  Upon graduation Abby began working with the New York based company Parsons Dance. Throughout the past 8 years she has toured the world, performing, teaching, and assisting Mr. Parsons.   In 2007 Abby assisted in choreographing Guiseppe Verdi’s opera “Aida” in the historical Arena di Verona  in Italy. She is currenlty the leading lady in Mr. Parsons’ latest creation “Remember Me”,  recently flimed for the PBS production “Operatic Heat” . She has been a guest artist for Momix, and has performed for several events and galas including Dancers Responding to Aids and Career Transitions for Dancers. Most recently she was a guest performer on the popular Italian TV show “Amici”.   Abby has appeared on the cover of Dancer Magazine, featured in Dance Magazine’s “One’s to Watch”, as well as several editorials for Oprah’s “O” magazine.  She continues to travel around the world performing, teaching, and sharing her artistry.

Feng Shui Workshop with Carrie Holmes

What is Yin? What is Yang?  How do they affect ME?

In this workshop you will learn about the sacred balance of yin and yang and how to apply the principles of yin and yang into your daily life.  We will look at what is considered “good Feng Shui” and “bad Feng Shui” and clear up any Feng Shui misconceptions.  You will learn about the five elements and how to use them in your life.  You will also learn how to properly use the Ba Gua for your home or office.  And every workshop attendee will leave knowing their own personal lucky directions.


 

Summer Cheer Clinic

 

Coming this Summer!

Students will learn the basics of cheerleading technique. This class will introduce the basic arm motions, the proper way to jump, as well as the proper vocal technique for cheering. Additionally, students will develop an understanding of the importance of cheerleading as a performance as well as a supportive sport.

Pilates works to strengthen the core, lengthen the spine, build muscle tone and gain flexibility. Learn the fundamentals of the Pilates Method and the eight principals that are the foundation of the Pilates Method; Control, Breath, Flowing Movement, Precision, Centering, Opposition, Stability, Range of Motion. Dani will take you through floorwork exercises, using your own body to create the resistance needed to connect with and strengthen your core. She will take you through fundamental movements to reawaken and realign the skeletal system. Dani Alpert is an Ellie Herman and Balanced Body University-trained Pilates instructor, proficient on all Pilates apparati, The Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Barrels, Springboard and Mat. Dani teaches at Beach Pilates in Point Pleasant, and The Ellie Herman studio in New York.

Pre Registration NOT required. Bring a mat and water!
